When we talk about grass fed or free range meat, we means that the meat that we are getting is coming from the sources that are not harmful for the environment as well as for the consumers. The grass fed beef animals are only reared upon green fresh wild grass and on hay and there is nothing artificial diet ingredient provided to them for increasing their weight. On the contrary, when it is about Free Range Beef, the animals are reared and kept in large farm where they roam and eat freely. The only consumption that they have is fresh grass. There are no antibiotics, no drugs and no artificial fats that can increase the amount of fats in them. As the grass fed beef walk while they eat, instead of developing fats they develop and make meat that is rich in taste and healthier for the consumers.
The animals that are reared upon the grains and other such food items are prepared within a time period of three months to be sold and slaughtered; on the contrary it takes about a year or so for an animal that is reared upon the fresh grass. Due to this difference of the time span for which an animal needs to be taken care of, the Green Grass Meat is slightly expensive than the commercial meat.
